I suspect this is an excellent time for a checkup, or physical as it is called in the health-care industry. I mean this is a nice time to test the healthiness of your site or setting. As health-care suppliers, we are devoted to curing our patients of their ills and keeping them healthy. My question is, “Do you have the same angle about the place you work?” Is your website meeting its highest goals? If not, then it is time for a change. I believe that as a group health-care sites are a lot like our patients. Actually, many engage in behavior that’s terribly deleterious to their contentment.

You can simply image such an individual. Well, there are plenty of health care facilities that are like that. They have many processes in which there are steps which add no value, that are a total waste of your time and effort. Then, there are patients who do plenty of the right things. They eat correctly, get a good quantity of exercise, and typically have a positive outlook. There are some medical care facilities that are fit too.

What does a health care site in not so excellent condition look like? These sites, I believe, have as their goals simply to meet their compliance standards, those set by the state, JHACO, or the FDA or another body. So long as they’re being licensed, they’re satisfied. Their perspective might be “If it is not damaged, don’t change it.” they’re like patients who are content to just sit on the lounger, watch Television , and eat whatever they like so long as they do not feel poorly.

What does a health-care site in fine shape look like? I suspect that such sites are continually hunting for paths to better themselves. They engage in “continuous quality improvement” activities. They’re truly worried about the health and angles of their patients and clients. They use surveys and they query and listen. Some even employ a tool called quality function deployment when planning new facilities or programs.

Besides listening to patients, they pay very close attention to their workers. They actively seek ideas from the employees on how things may be done better. They need to have their workers enjoy working at their site and support its mission. The leaders of such sites actively reflect this angle. Further, such sites seek paths to improve the systems at their site. They cut waste and save time and improve the final analysis. Many tools for doing this could be found in quality disciplines like Lean Health-care and 6 Sigma. What are the outcomes of these positive and active approaches? Our patients are merrier, fitter, and make space to do the things they desire. They sometimes live longer with less health issues. Medical care sites which are actively engaged in constant quality improvement programs often find that they have the time to do their objectives and do not feel rushed, they have an improved bottom line, and they don’t often experience unfavorable events. The doctors do not have to work most unlikely hours to do all they desire. Let me encourage you at this time to sit with your comrades and leaders and appraise the healthiness of your website.
